Here are a few examples of common printing press malfunctions

Some faults can be identified by sound. By observing abnormal sounds, we can determine the location, extent, and cause of the fault so that we can take timely measures. Label Source takes appropriate action based on the sound.

Here are a few examples of how to identify the sounds of common faults:

1.The paper feeder made a slipping “squeak” sound.

This is caused by severe wear and tear on the nozzle during prolonged use, resulting in a smooth suction surface. It could also be due to poor airflow, insufficient suction, or paper that is too thick, slippery, or stuck together.

The following methods can be used to address the issue:
① Apply a rubber ring to the nozzle;
② Scratch the nozzle surface with a saw blade or sandpaper to increase friction;
③ Clean the feeder and clear the airflow path;
④ Remove any buildup inside the blower;
⑤ Treat the paper accordingly.

2.There is a “chichi” sound from both mouths of the paper separating nozzle.

This could be caused by several reasons: First, improper adjustment, resulting in misalignment of the suction holes; second, the piston fixing screw automatically shifting outward, causing a change in the angle of the two suction nozzles, making them non-parallel to the paper; third, obstruction of the air path, or insufficient airflow from the blower. Sometimes, insufficient airflow to the paper, excessive pressure on the paper by the presser foot, or paper obstruction by the brush can also cause this situation. The appropriate solution should be found based on the specific circumstances.
