Analysis of the impact of printing and coating on coating quality

Printing processes can cause the coating film formed on the coating rollers to be easily broken and cracked; improper setting of coating head process parameters can lead to poor coating transfer between rollers, thus affecting coating quality. To address these issues, the following measures should be taken in actual production.

1.Add a screening system to the paint delivery pipeline:
In view of the impurities and bubbles contained in the paint, the paint conveying process was modified and a screening system was added between the working tank and the working plate to screen out the impurities and coarse spacer particles mixed in the paint, thereby improving the quality of the paint and improving the film-forming properties of the paint.

Adjusting the roller gap and speed ratio can alter the thickness and uniformity of the wet film layer on the coating roller; adjusting the wiping ratio can change the thickness and uniformity of the wet film layer transferred from the coating roller to the printing plate. Through exploration and practice, Shanghai self-adhesive printing has selected the following process parameters: a gap of 0.2mm between the coating roller and the impregnation roller, a gap of 0.2mm between the coating roller and the metering roller, and a gap of 0.16mm between the coating roller and the corner protector; a speed ratio of 2.1:1 between the coating roller and the impregnation roller, a speed ratio of 2.1:1 between the coating roller and the metering roller; and a wiping ratio of 1.9:1 between the paper web and the coating roller.
